The ILO Bureau for Workers Activities has launched a policy brief which highlights the important role that workers` organizations have in promoting awareness about the process for the ratification and application of the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019 (No. 190) and the application of Recommendation No. 206

This main purpose of this policy brief is to promote the understanding of these new International Labour Standarts and to raise awareness on the importance of promoting the ratification of Convention No. 190. Once Convention No. 190 is ratified both instruments will have to be effectively implemented in law and practice.

It is clearly stated that all ILO member States that ratify Convention No. 190 shall respect, promote and realize the right of everyone to a world of work free from violence and harassment, being this International Labour Standart the first one to expressly recognize this right in an international treaty.
